Newark Winterfest is here again!
Enjoy holiday cheer, roasting chestnuts, caroling, live musical performances, ice carving demonstrations, and much more to fill this wonderful evening of fun for the whole family.
For more than two decades, Newark Winterfest has proven to be a wonderful addition to the holiday season. Bring the entire family downtown for a holiday tree lighting and a visit from Santa Claus!
Newark Winterfest is a joint effort by the Newark Parks and Recreation Department, the University of Delaware, and the Downtown Newark Partnership. The Delaware Special Olympics will be holding their annual Reindeer Run and Romp in conjunction with Newark Winterfest (www.sode.org).
The 5K Reindeer Run and Romp, held annually on the first Friday of December, is an evening event that utilizes downtown Newark, the University of Delaware campus, and the James F. Hall Trail.
This program is made possible, in part, by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts in Delaware, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
Rain date is Saturday, December 3.
