The Delaware Solid Waste Authority(DSWA) hosts special recycling and collection events for Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) & Electronic Goods for Recycling (EGR) at different local locations this spring on Saturdays from Hockessin to Wilmington, Newark and Delaware City. Delaware residents can bring their HHW and EGR to the events FREE of Charge. All DSWA HHW and EGR Collection events are held RAIN or SHINE!

We are proud to have hosted the Governor’s press conference on recycling today in our Education Building. The Governor announced that Delaware’s recycling diversion rate has doubled since 2006 when we first started calculating the state’s recycling rate. Way to Go Delaware!!

EVERY WEDNESDAY

The Household Hazardous Waste Program is held at the Delaware Recycling Center (DRC) every Wednesday, in Cheswold Collection Station every Friday, and at Jones Crossroads Landfill location on Mondays to provide even more opportunities to dispose of HHW. Unlike the other scheduled HHW events DSWA will not be able to accept any ammunition or sharps (needles).
