Meet Luke Matheny, 2011 Oscar Winner
from Wilmington, Delaware receiving the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film for God of Love.
At the start of his acceptance speech, Matheny, joked, “I should’ve gotten a haircut.” He went on to thank his mother, who provided craft services on the film, the “great state of Delaware,” and “the love of my life,” the Russian-born composer, Sasha Gordon, who scored the film.
Luke Matheny, 35, is a 1993 graduate of Concord High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism in 1997.
