The Great Outdoors

Are you an active person who loves the outdoors?  Are you single, athletic & looking to meet someone who has similar interests?  Do you have kids & want to teach them the importance of physical fitness & healthy living?  Did you decide you’ve had enough of the “bar scene”, but still want the opportunity to get out and meet new people doing fun things?  If you said yes to any of the above, I have the answer for you…

Join the Wilmington Trail Club!  This is an organization of people who live in and around the Wilmington area, they participate in a variety of activities such as Hiking, Paddling, Biking and Skiing.

I think joining would be perfect for the active single (of ANY age) looking  to meet a partner or make new friends & keep active and fit at the same time.  You know what they say;  the best way to meet people you’d be compatable with is by doing something you enjoy, that way you already have something in common. If you love to HIKE check out the HIKE ACROSS DELAWARE; you’re bound to meet some new folks in the 23+ mile hike.

Don’t get me wrong, membership would be beneficial to everyone. I just wanted to emphasis this opportunity to all the “single ladies” in my life.  It’s great for families wanting to make the most of the time they have with their parnters and children while keeping fit, teaching their children to be fit & being social at the same time.  Married couples & dating couples also benefit for the same reasons plus it makes a great date when you’re tired of the movies, dinners & bar scene.

Maybe hiking isn’t your thing, don’t stress, with over 400 hiking, biking, white water kayaking & canoeing, recreational/ sea kayaking & canoeing & cross country skiiing you are bound to find a fit.  So, maybe you have some interest but no experience, don’t fret; they have training classes available!

Single day trips or extended trips are scheduled mostly in Delaware, Pennsylvania or Maryland.  Some events extend to other parts of the U.S. (Virginia, New York, New Hampshire) and the World. Trip leaders are club members who contribute their time, expertise, and effort.

” The purposes of the Club shall be to provide opportunities for members to enjoy outdoor recreation and to promote and support the protection and restoration of places of natural beauty and interest.”
