Super Bowl XLVII - Baltimore Ravens v San Francisco 49ersLOCAL EYE on Joe Flacco of the Baltimore Ravens and UofD grad – Voted MVP of Super Bowl XLVII in a victory over the San Francisco 49ers, 34-31. ”We gave the country a pretty good game to watch,” Flacco said. Joe became the sixth in 47 Super Bowls to throw for 3 scores in a first half – hold tight. He towered in the second half even with the blackout in the Superdome, delaying action for more than a half-hour. ”I tell you what: We don’t make it easy,” Flacco said. ”But that’s the way the city of Baltimore is. That’s the way we are.” Classic.  Joe Flacco was 22-of-33 for 287 yards and three TDs.

What a sweeeeet LOCAL VICTORY! We are so very proud of our University of Delaware QuarterBack, Joe Flacco, and also Offensive Lineman, Gino Gradowski.

Congrats Baltimore!

Delaware becomes the 1st NCAA Division I FCS school to have had 2 different players – Gannon and Flacco — start at quarterback in the Super Bowl and is one of only 10 schools nationally to have accomplished that feat, joining Alabama, Purdue, Notre Dame, California, UCLA, Stanford, Brigham Young, Maryland and Washington State.

Congrats U of D!
