Dollar Days ~ Saturdays in February & March – 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. ~Admission to Hagley is only $1 every Saturday in February & March.  Free for members. Use Hagley’s main entrance off Route 141 in Wilmington, Delaware.

 

Hagley’s Belin House Organic Cafe

Chef Dan Butler, owner of Toscana Kitchen + Bar and Deep Blue Restaurant, and Hagley’s exclusive on-site caterer, brings gourmet food service to Hagley’s Workers’ Hill. With seasonal menus that feature simple prepared fare, the Belin House Organic Cafe is open daily from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

You can get to the Belin House Organic Cafe by boarding the bus at the Visitor Center or by walking up Workers’ Hill.Please note that on weekdays through March 9, 2012, the bus will stop at the cafe twice per day as part of the guided tour. Visitors are welcome to walk to the cafe from the Visitor Center.On weekends, the bus stops at the cafe approximately every thirty minutes.

Victorine’s Valentine’s Day

Families will love this afternoon of crafts and activities. Visitors taste gingerbread, make a Victorian Valentine using the “scrap” method, write Valentine verses with a quill pen, and design a candy bar wrapper. A special exhibit featuring antique Valentine cards and candy packaging will be on display. Activities are included in regular admission. Use Hagley’s main entrance off Route 141 in Wilmington, Delaware.

Hagley Research Seminar Series
Katherine Epstein (Rutgers University-Camden), “The Nuts and Bolts of the Military-Industrial Complex: Standardization, Inspection, and Information Control in American Torpedo Production before World War I.”  Commentator:  Marcus Jones (United States Naval Academy) The seminar is open to the public and is based on a paper that is circulated in advance. Those planning to attend are encouraged to read the paper before coming to the seminar. Carol Lockman at [email protected]. The seminar begins promptly at 6:30, and takes place in the Copeland Room of Hagley’s library building.
