The Delaware Lottery announced that the local WINNER of the MEMORIAL DAY Weekend POWERBALL® jackpot drawing has finally come forward to claim 1/3 of the estimated 50 million dollar Annuity Jackpot. They waited almost 1 month to the day to stake their claim! Why the delay? Do you think they were in shock or just smart enough to secure an attorney?
We would love to ask this Delaware resident what went through his/her head when he/she realized they had a winning ticket. What are you going to do with all that money? What made you decide to take the cash & what does it feel like to hold a check for 10, 377.750.77 in your hands? So many questions, but as much as inquiring minds want to know, the winner is exercising his/her right to anonymity.
The lucky Delaware resident who purchased his/her ticket at the Rehoboth Beach “Super G” was one of three ticket holders from the May 25 POWERBALL drawing to match all six numbers correctly. The winning numbers drawn May 25 were 2, 6, 19, 21, and 27 with a POWERBALL of 25. The additional two winning tickets were sold in Florida and Louisiana and the winners have not yet come forward.
“In Delaware, winner privacy is our policy,” said Delaware Lottery Director Vernon Kirk. “Although we cannot reveal the winner’s identity, we are pleased to share in the luck of being able to award yet another big jackpot prize, making this individual the ninth jackpot winner overall in the First State.”
Delaware is one of only six states that allow winners to remain anonymous! They will not reveal a winner’s personal information for any reason, without consent.
YOU CAN’T WIN IF YOU DON’T PLAY!
The overall odds of winning a prize in the game are approximately 1 in 31. The odds of winning a jackpot prize are 1-in-175 million.
