The sweet smell of chalk and erasers, the roar and fumes of the school bus, the laughter and tears of tots and adults alike, and then that sudden complete silence that sweeps over the house when they are gone. By now we hope, your daily stalking of the school bus has ended, your tears have dimished(well at least to just watering eyes) and you have ruled out homeschooling as a viable option. Chin UP! It’s time to celebrate each and every one of the sweet successes – big and little.

Ingredients(Serves 3)

3 strawberries, quartered & hulled, save more for garnish
1 lemon, cut into 8 wedges
4 ounces simple syrup
6 ounces vodka(exclude if for kids; consider seltzer or 7up as an alternative)
Splash of cranberry juice, to taste
Ice, for shaking

Directions

In a shaker, muddle the lemon, strawberries, and simple syrup. Add ice, vodka(or seltzer), and splash of cranberry juice. Shake well and strain into three(3) martini glasses. Garnish with a strawberry(or eraser) and serve.
