Give-Freely GivingTuesday Delaware#GivingTuesday is a nationwide call to action that began as a simple idea – A day for giving thanks to those organizations that give so much every day. Giving of self – the true meaning of the Holiday Season.  It’s the thought that counts most, not the gift.  Materially, we have three days for getting great holiday deals – Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday… And now, let us celebrate ONE GREAT day for giving back #GivingTuesday

On Tuesday, December 3, 2013 charities, families, businesses and individuals are coming together to transform the way people think about, talk about and participate in the giving season. It’s a simple idea. Find a way for your family, your community, your company or your organization to join in acts of giving. Tell everyone you can about what you are doing and why it matters. Join the inaugural national celebration of our great tradition of generosity. And together let’s create ways to give more, give better and give smarter.

Shoes2Share DelawareSHOES 2 SHARE

SHOES 2 SHARE is a grassroots, charitable ministry with a passion to serve.  We seek to make life more comfortable around the world, for children & their families, through the donations of “new & like new shoes.”  We have a growing beneficiary list that includes international & domestic programs who receive these shoes so individuals are able to participate in school, church, sports, work, or just everyday protection of the foot.  Our mission is continually spurred forward when the shoes find a new home and return a huge smile of thanks!  This joyful experience increases our heart for service and is extended by walking with other organizations to leave footprints of opportunities in social & economic development to those in great need. DoSomething.org

DOSOMETHING.ORG

With a goal of 5 million active members by 2015, DoSomething.org is one of the largest organizations in the US for teens and social change.  While this organization is not based in Delaware – The organization was co-founded in 1993 by Actor and North Delawarean, Andrew Shue.  Andrew’s motivation was to encourage young people to become active citizens and leaders while also making community involvement fun. Young people are awesome,  DoSomething.org is here to help them. They believe teenagers have the power to make a difference and leverage communications technologies to enable teens to convert their ideas and energy into positive action. They inspire, empower and celebrate a generation of doers: teenagers who recognize the need to do something, believe in their ability to get it done, and then take action. Visit DoSomething.org to learn even more.
Find out how much the old people in your life really know about young people, for every question they get wrong they can pledge to  give $10 to Do Something! Share it with the old people in your life now: www.dosomething.org/givingtuesday
