Fundraising events and educational outreach programs sponsored by individuals, businesses, and organizations are scheduled throughout the state during the month of October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Funds raised provide support for the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, Inc. in bringing breast health programs and services to women and men throughout Delaware and surrounding communities of Pennsylvania, Maryland and New Jersey. Provided is a schedule of events which the public is encouraged to attend.

All the rage in northern Europe, Hobby Horse Competitions are coming to Oxford, Pennsylvania! From 9:00 to 11:00 am participants register, then assemble and customize stick ponies at the store. They are also welcome to bring a “pony” from home. At 11:00 am, the “pony show” will begin with divisions by ages each offering under saddle (walk, trot, canter), over fences, and trail classes.  Participants should wear athletic attire and sneakers or running shoes. As hobby horse “riders” and spectators build up quite an appetite, wood-fired pizza can be purchased from Nooners on-site as well as homemade ice cream by Kilby Cream. The always popular themed raffle baskets will again be featured.  Raffle tickets can be purchased throughout the entire month of October.
