Crystal ‘s North Delaware!

Crystal is an “Accidental” raised in the very small town of Accident, (Western) Maryland, some 250 miles from New Castle County borders. She ventured to North Delaware to attend Wilmington University in 2009. Crystal loved the area so much she continued her academics in WilmU’s Master’s degree program. Crystal shared with us her love for LOCAL – “I absolutely adore Delaware. It has been a wonderful home for me the last 5 years and I was honored to represent this great state at the national pageant. One of my favorite things about this area is how warm and supportive everyone is. As you can see from my hometown video, I grew up in a tiny town where everyone is your friend. It’s nice to get the same vibe in North Delaware! I am very excited to travel to Mexico since it will be my first time traveling there. I’ve only been out of the country once when I studied abroad in China!  Thank you so much for your support. ” We couldn’t agree more – Best of Luck Crystal!

Ms. United States 2014 Crystal Rush, age 27, is a resident of Newark, Delaware and was raised in Maryland. Crystal is a former Baltimore Ravens Playmaker who entered pageantry just two short years ago. She attributes her success to “hard work, dedication, and believing in yourself.” Crystal was the first in her family to receive a Master’s degree, which she applies toward a career in marketing and her current project of writing a book. The greatest thing she has overcome on her path to the crown is losing over 20 pounds by choosing a healthy, active lifestyle. Her platform of choice supports foster care awareness – dedicated to her parents who are foster parents and to her mom who grew up as foster child. She advised anyone seeking the title of Ms. United States to be themselves and stay passionate.

Fourth’s a Charm!

The Ms. United States pageant is the fourth in which Crystal has competed and her first national title. In 2013, she was crowned Miss Delaware International, and she was also fourth runner up at Miss Delaware USA.

Press Release: Washington, D.C. – In early November, Ms. United States 2014, Crystal Rush, will film The Fashion Hero reality television show in Riveria Maya, Mexico. Rush will be joined by two former national titleholders and multiple reigning state titleholders.

Earlier this year, the Fashion Hero became an official partner of the Miss United States Organization to communicate that pageantry and modeling can welcome women of all shapes, sizes, heights and backgrounds. During The Fashion Hero television show, brands such as Johnathan Kayne and Planet Beach will select models for upcoming campaigns.

“I always wondered how nice it would be,” said creator Caroline Bernier, “to see real people represented in marketing campaigns, instead of airbrushed, photo shopped, unattainable ideals of beauty. This is the reason why I created The Fashion Hero.”

The Fashion Hero is projected to be syndicated around the world in 2015. Learn more at www.thefashionhero.com.
