Irish Whiskey Enjoy Irish Heritage Month, but don’t spend too much time searching for those Lucky Charms, chasing the end of the rainbow, or trying to catch that tricky Leprechaun when you could be sitting back and sipping on a nip of Irish Whiskey. After all, it is the “water of life”, and Irish Heritage Month or not, it’s the HOT stuff right now!

“The Glass can be half empty or half full…as long as there’s Whiskey in it!”

The availability of Bourbon & Scotch is scarce these days causing the prices to go through the roof and as a result, many people are stepping out for a taste of the Irish- and they’re not disappointed!  The traditional Jameson is typically the first one that comes to mind and although it is a very good choice, it’s nice to know there are others from which to choose. Premier Wine & Spirits gives you the opportunity to sip and see for yourself at their weekly Whiskey Wednesday night tastings located at their Limestone Rd. location from 5pm-8pm.

Jameson Caskmates

Emerging from a conversation between our head distiller and the head brewer of Cork’s Franciscan Well Brewery, Jameson Caskmates has been finished in stout-seasoned whiskey casks. While the triple-distilled smoothness is very much intact, notes of cocoa, coffee and butterscotch confirm the stout influence. Caskmates is a head-turning, modern Irish whiskey.

The Quiet Man Traditional Irish Whiskey

Brand NEW to Delaware!

Now that I am making my own whiskey, I am naming it after my father. As a bartender he saw a lot of things and heard a lot of stories, but like all good bartenders, he was true to his code and told no tales. My father, John Mulgrew, “The Quiet Man”, or as they say in Ireland “An Fear Ciuin.”

Irish whiskey The Original Powers Irish Whiskey

One of the first Whiskey’s ever bottled in Ireland!

WHAT IS IT ABOUT POWERS?

There’s a reason why no other whiskey tastes like Powers – no other whiskey is made like Powers. The distinctively rich, round, complex, full flavors come from the unique way in which all our whiskeys are crafted. Not only do they triple distill their whiskey, they cut more from the top and tail of the second and third charges taking only the heart of the distillate. Then they maintain this unique flavor profile through careful maturation and proprietary non-chill filtration. “This results in a powerful, spicy flavor that is ours and ours alone.”
