Movers and Shakers Delaware 2015 Nominations Open thru 9/16/15
Marie Allen has been a trailblazer in educating and supporting families dealing with addiction. She has been sharing the story of her daughter and addiction for 18 years now. Her daughter was in recovery had blood work completed and that triggered her relapse. Shortly after her daughter lost her fight to heroin addiction. Marie Allen’s Heroin Alert Program with the NCCP has been educating in schools, community centers and fire halls for all these years. I know people personally that her story and personal contacts have helped others find recovery. I am positive she has saved many lives. Her selfless acts of kindness and passion needs to be recognized. I can only admire her un- anonymous style of education that has been going on for many years. Marie Allen has been un-annynomous when most people hid in shame. She shared her experience with all intentions of preventing other families from the pain and loss. She is truly saving lives one person at a time with this drug epidemic.
