I would like to nominate Marie Allen who works with the New Castle County Police. She has spent years educating our local communities and schools with her presentation of “Heroin Alert Program”. She also was the first person to my knowledge in Delaware to break her silence and shame to share her daughter’s fight with heroin addiction with the intention to save lives to this horrible epidemic. We are now acknowledging and publically making a difference but Marie Allen should be recognized as one of the most influential trail blazers in the epidemic. She has been working on this since the death of her daughter. Please seriously acknowledge Marie Allen as as a nominee for her years of service and tremendous difference she has made to NCC – one person and one presentation at a time.
