The 11th Annual Delaware Marathon Running Festival. The Delaware Marathon™ course consists of two half marathon distance loops. Both loops take you from the Wilmington Riverfront on the Christina River, across town to beautiful Brandywine Park on the Brandywine River, along Kentmere and Bancroft Parkways, through the 40 Acres, Wawaset Park, and Little Italy neighborhoods of Wilmington before returning via the Wilmington park system and past Rodney Square to the Riverfront. Wilmington Grand Prix Weekend | Cycling Event & Street Festival
Friday thru Sunday, May 16-18th
This 3 day USA Cycling National Racing calendar event with elite national and international men’s and women’s races and the Gran Prix, a 35-mile course through 11 cultural attractions in beautiful New Castle County. A course made famous during the Tour DuPont. Friday – cheer on 300 riders as they compete against the clock and the cobblestones of Monkey Hill near the Brandywine Zoo. Enjoy an outdoor BBQ with music, beer and family fun in Brandywine Park. Saturday – gather downtown to watch a figure-eight criterium over a one-mile course. Start/Finish line in front of The Grand Opera House at 800 block of Market Street. Named among the Top 10 criterium bike races in the country by USA Cycling, the Wilmington Grand Prix is an international cycling event that includes a FREE 6-block street festival, a parade, a recreational ride through a dozen world-class cultural attractions, sidewalk and course cafes, and a variety of free family rides and attractions. St. Anthony’s Italian Festival

In the heart of Wilmington’s Little Italy, this week-long family festival is one of the largest around. Blue Rocks Reverse Home Run Derby & All-Star Hitting Challenge
Monday, June 16th
Come out to Frawley Stadium to watch the 2014 California and Carolina League All-Stars compete in the 2014 Reverse Home Run Derby and All-Star Hitting Challenge. The Wilmington Blue Rocks will continue that tradition of trying new things by becoming the first Minor League baseball club to host a Home Run Derby where players bat from the outfield and try to hit the ball into the stands behind where home plate normally resides. That is the highlight of the Hitting Challenge that will open the California League/Carolina League All-Star Game festivities presented by Bank of America at Frawley Stadium. The hitting challenge will feature 12 players – six from the California League and six from the Carolina League – competing as teams to prove once and for all which coast features the top Advanced-A hitters. Contestants will get 60 seconds to take as many swings as possible at targets that will be littered across Judy Johnson Field at Frawley Stadium. Weather permitting. 2014 California/Carolina All-Star Game

First State Showdown. Baseball’s Stars of tomororow square off in the first state. Frawley Stadium will serve as host of the California-Carolina League All-Star Game. This will be the second time Wilmington has hosted this inter-league All-Star event. The 2014 California/Carolina All-Star Game pits the top players of the Advanced-A California League against the top players of the Advanced-A Carolina League. DuPont Clifford Brown Jazz Festival

The 2014 DuPont Clifford Brown Jazz Festival is the largest, multi-day, free, outdoor music festival on the East Coast. Taking place in downtown Wilmington. This festival has been the festival to hear artists perform some of Clifford’s work.
