What’s Happening & Where This Weekend!
Stroll the streets of Delaware’s Hidden Treasure the First Friday of each month to experience GREAT Art, Food, Wine, Friends and Fun! First Friday Nights of the month in New Castle are the place to be! Walk through town visiting galleries, artisanal displays and unique objets d’art while snacking and sipping wine.
A tour of opening receptions for art exhibitions in the downtown and greater Wilmington area on the first Friday of the month. Art galleries, studios, museums and alternative art spaces offer an opportunity to meet the featured artist(s) while enjoying refreshments, and in some cases live entertainment.
The Arden Fair features children’s games and rides, handmade crafts by over 100 vendors (many of whom are local), an Antiques Market, used books (inside Gild Hall), plants, live music in the Shady Grove, delicious food and drink, an art exhibit, and more.
Blue Earl Brewing Company is celebrating the end of summer with Beers, Rims, and Notes. The event features a Car Show, Food Trucks, and Live Music. There will be a Biergarten, Outdoor Games, and a Pinup Contest, too.
Local historians John Medkeff, Tony Russo, and Bob Fullmer will present a history of Delaware brewing, followed by a craft beverage sampling including more than fifteen local craft beverage makers. Enjoy gourmet sandwiches from WiLDWiCH Food Truck and meet with local artisans and artists!
an out-of-this-world event featuring your favorite Star Wars characters from
Garrison Carida of the 501st Legion (a professional costuming organization dedicated to re-creating authentic costumes of the Dark Side characters from Star Wars). Shake hands, high-five, and pose for pictures with your favorite Star Wars characters, and then blast off into outer space with hands-on programs that explore the science of Star Wars.
Visitors are encouraged to climb into an antique automobile or board one of our trains and experience what it was like to travel at the turn of the 20th century. Or tour the magnificent 1897 mansion that was home to three generations of the Marshall family.
Come out to the annual Polo Ball and enjoy this year’s theme “Boots and Diamonds.” The Polo Ball is a fundraiser for the Brandywine Polo Club, there will be Cocktails, Croquet, Buffet and Dance tunes will be by Helixx Rocks.
65th Anniversary Concert with Boy In Black — Johnny Cash Tribute Band (starts at 3 p.m.) Bring your picnic supper, blanket, or lawn chairs and enjoy our outdoor concert series. Don’t forget to visit the Friends of White Clay Creek State Park’s booth, where they will be selling water ice. The concerts are free, but park entrance fees are in effect.
