UD Spring Plant Sale
The two day Spring Plant Sale begins Friday and offers customers plants that work well here in Delaware and the surrounding area. We grow, test, and evaluate plants in the University of Delaware Botanical Gardens collection and our academic programs vett the plants.
Noche de Carnival at the Delaware Art Museum
Enjoy a Latin-themed night at the Museum with live music, food trucks, and activities for kids inspired by the exhibition Our America: The Latino Presence in American Art. Celebrate the diversity and fusion of Latin American culture within the city of Wilmington!
Newark Food Truck Party
The Newark Arts Alliance is throwing a free Food Truck Party in Market East Plaza, and you’re invited! Aside from the 8 food trucks, beer and wine will be sold. There will be art projects, art demos, art by local artists for sale, and more! Enjoy live music as well as fun for kids of all ages! Proceeds support the Newark Arts Alliance.
Small State, Small Bites
The first annual Small State, Small Bites food competition and silent auction is a compilation of local chefs gathering for the purpose of creating the “perfect bite.” In addition to the “Perfect Bite” competition, there will be a silent auction and cash bar allowing members of the community to gather and network all while benefiting the students of MOT Charter High School.
Comedy Night at the Chesapeake Inn
The Chesapeake Inn will be filled with laughter because solid stand-up comedy acts will be tickling your funny bones. We are having special guest Jack Foraker and his Adult Puppet Show, headliner Doug Karpf, and featured comedian Jay “The Chameleon” from New York and Baltimore.
Stargazing at Fair Hill
Join Joe Fox for an evening of seasonal sky exploration. Stargazers will be given approximately 30 minutes of instruction on how to read a star map, and get a preview of the constellations, stars and planets you will see, as well as being regaled with star mythology and more. Then, a stroll outside will open your eyes to the night sky.

Members of the campus community, and the surrounding community, are encouraged to join the college for a day filled with music, exhibitors, great food, and fun on UD’s South Campus. The theme of 2016 is “SustainAGbility: Doing What Nature Would Do.”
St. Helena’s Carnival
Enjoy the final night of the annual St. Helena’s carnival with CHORDUROY on the main stage. There will be food, rides, raffles, games, prizes, and more!
This free event features local, emerging artists, food trucks, and craft vendors — making WILMUSIC Fest the place to be for Delaware-grown entertainment!
Casting With Cops
Enjoy catch-and-release fishing at Glasgow Park that will include New Castle County Mounted Police and K-9 demonstrations. Enjoy food, giveaways, raffles, and more on this fun-filled day in the park!
Curio Spring Market in Newark
In addition to up to 20 different vendors — including Main Street businesses as well as locally made goods, vintage finds, and gourmet packaged food — there will be local food and fashion trucks, live music, and desserts. at the outdoor Curio Market on Academy Street.
Mastersingers of Wilmington Concert
Enjoy remarkably sonorous music of the Russian Orthodox tradition along with the beloved, haunting, and classic Requiem of 19th century French composer Gabriel Fauré, with orchestra accompanying this beautiful ensemble of voices.
Do You Like Riding a Bike? Two fabulous family events are happening on Saturday:
- Pedal Through the Parks is a leisurely bike ride from the Blue Ball Barn (Alapocas Run State Park) to Bellevue State Park using the Northern Delaware Greenway Trail.
- Starting at the Newark Shopping Center, the Newark Mayor’s Fun Ride is day centered around bikes and family fun. There will also be live music, free bike repairs, educational and safety information, a kid’s skills course, children’s activities, plus bike raffles and prizes!

Train Day at Auburn Heights
Spend a day celebrating all things train (big & small)! Enjoy special guests, exact layouts, and activities like building trains costumes. Of course you can ride the rails on the 1/8-size live steam and diesel locomotives. Choo-choo!
Pet-A-Palooza will feature pet contests, demonstrations, food, and activities for the entire family. It will be fun-filled day featuring non-profits focused on animals, entertainment, and adoptable pets.
Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research Open House
Take a peek behind the scenes at Tri-State’s bird rehabilitation center. Meet raptors up close, take self-guided tours, shop with local vendors, and more! There is always something to do with children’s activities, tours, and local shopping. This fun-filled day is perfect for the whole family, a classroom trip, or a community organization to take a closer look at wildlife rehabilitation!
Zahav: A World Of Israeli Cooking
Enjoy a free discussion and book signing with James Beard Award winner, chef Michael Solomonov (of Philadelphia restaurants Zahav and Diezengoff fame). Solomonov will be promoting his cookbook “Zahav: A World of Israeli Cooking.”

- Delaware Choral Arts presents “Misa Criolla” which features performances of sacred and secular choral works by Spanish and Latin American composers.
- The Music School of Delaware puts on its annual Spring Choral Concert featuring Bella Voce, The Delaware Women’s Chorus, Music School Jazz Choirs, and this year’s guest ensemble Vocal Motive.
- Bach to Rock! features the Capitol Ringers perform music from Bach and Mozart to contemporary artists using handchimes and the largest set of handbells on the Delmarva Peninsula!
