SANTA CLAUS EXPRESS
Visit Santa Claus aboard that train! Why stand in line at the mall and wait to see Santa when you can ride on the Wilmington & Western Railroad’s Holiday Express train and have the big guy come to you? Yup, The Jolly Old Elf himself rides the train, he greets the passengers and even has chocolate treats for all the kiddies. Don’t be surprised if you see Mrs. Claus with him! Make sure you bring a camera…Santa will be delighted to pose with the children of all ages on this 1½-hour round-trip to Ashland.
This event is powered by one of the W&W railroads antique steam locomotives.

HOLIDAY LIGHTS EXPRESS
Relax and enjoy a peaceful ride on one of the Wilmington & Western Railroad’s 1929 doodlebug rail-cars covered with more than 5,000 lights.The route of the original Wilmington & Western was laid out in the early 1870s, and soon after, men and machines went to work moving goods and passengers along the Red Clay Valley.
Since 1966, the modern-day Wilmington & Western has moved hundreds of thousands of kids (both young and old) along this same route.
There’s a seat waiting for you. Along the ride you will see History come alive and as the 45 minute trip winds down you’ll travel past many decorated homes on both sides of the tracks. Be sure to place your vote for your favorite Holiday House encountered along the way.
