On Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 5:30 p.m., the Wilmington Police and Fire Departments will play their 1st annual Wilmington’s Finest Ice Hockey game in support of the B+ Foundation. The B+ Foundation was founded after Salesianum High School student, Andrew McDonough, passed away from leukemia.  Andrew was treated at A.I. DuPont Children’s Hospital in Delaware and Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia.  After Andrew’s passing his family founded the B+ Foundation to provide financial assistance and support for childhood cancer research. Currently there are several events supporting the B+ Foundation including 5k runs/walks, soccer games, basketball games, and now the Wilmington’s Finest Ice Hockey Game. Together the Wilmington Police and Fire Departments want to remember a local hero while raising awareness for childhood cancer.

Local businesses have donated prizes that will be raffled during the game with all proceeds to benefit the B+ Foundation. Any business that would like to make a product or service donation please contact Sgt. Adam Ringle at (302) 275-1336.

Tickets can be purchased prior to the game or at the door for $5 per person.
