“Ad Ogni Sanot Vien Sua Festa”
Is an old Italian proverb meaning: “Every Saint has his own Festival” & you can bet your bacce balls that St. Anthony’s of Padua will be pulling out all the stops to honor their patron Saint.
Come experience Italy in Wilmington’s ” Little Italy”. For 2012, the Italian Festival celebrates the spirit of Italy’s idyllic island paradise, Sicily. Experience the vibrant tastes of Sicilian cuisine and a captivating garden display that will transport you to the Sicilian countryside!
The St. Anthony’s Italian Festival offers a wide variety of delicious and authentic Italian food specialties. Personally, I can’t wait to get my hands on a little something they call a “Panzaratti”. It’s a magnificently delicious deep fried rolled up pizza that’s been a staple at the Festival since I was a kid.
Experience a virtual tour of Italy during your visit by dining in one of their many outdoor eateries. Be sure to visit Little Italy Riviera, new this year, to enjoy the cuisine of Caffe Gelato & the Riviera bar. Also new this year and in the same area is Quizbuster’s Quizzo, Tuesday- Friday along with Festival gambling and Live Music.
It all starts with the 33rd Annual Italian Festival 5k Run on Sunday 6/10. Registration is from 8-9am and the participants will get a FREE breakfast. The event is hosted by Races2Run.
The 10th Annual Festival Gala Concert is also on Sunday & will be featuring St. Anthony’s NEW Peragallo Organ. This Delaware Tourism Hall of Fame winning event is located in the Church at 3pm.
