Blue Rocks Happening Guide – What’s Happening in April?
Opening Week – Thursday, April 17th through Wednesday, April 22nd – The BLUE boys of summer return to Frawley Stadium Come out and see the Rocks as they take on the Frederick Keys thru April 19th, then Potomac Nationals April 20th thru 22nd and end the month with the Myrtle Beach Pelicans April 28th – 30th. Meet the Rocks
The Rocks’ 2015 Opening Day roster includes 3 of the Kansas City Royals’ top-30 prospects according to Baseball America and 11 players who have spent time in Wilmington previously. While some of the players may be used to playing on the Riverfront, manager Brian Buchanan will have to adjust to life in the Carolina League. Buchanan, who played parts of 5 seasons at the Major League level, enters his sixth season as a Minor League Manager, all of those spent in the Royals Organization. The Rocks’ Doughnut Dog drew plenty of publicity during the offseason–even trending on Twitter at one point–but for those who still have not heard of it here is your scouting report. It is a hotdog served inside of a glazed doughnut bun. If that doesn’t get your taste buds going there is also“The Sweenie,” one of America’s first sweet weenies. This is a hotdog inside a glazed doughnut bun drizzled with bacon and raspberry jam.
Blue Rocks and Dogfish Head Craft Brewed Ales are crafting Delaware’s best new happy hour at Frawley Stadium! Every Thursday night game from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM on the Dogfish Deck in the first base picnic area, fans will be able to purchase $3 Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA drafts, $3 Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA bottles, Dogfish seasonal and specialty ales, $2 domestic drafts and $2 wines!
