With the hustle and bustle of the Holidays, it’s fantastic when you have one less worry… like metered parking.  Wilmington and Newark  are offering you some FREE parking opportunities over the 2014 holidays.

CITY OF WILMINGTON

If your venturing into the City of Wilmington for a little holly jolly shopping adventure or to experience some of the City’s spectacular theatre/arts experiences enjoy FREE on-street metered parking including the Riverfront every day from 12pm to 8am (the following morning) thru January 1, 2015.  This FREE parking policy only applies to the downtown area bounded by 2nd Street, 12th Street, French Street, and Washington Street. The policy also applies to all metered parking on the riverfront. Motorists must still observe the two-hour parking limit (vehicles can only park on a city block for two hours, after which time the vehicle must be moved to another block); however, there is no need to place coins in the meters after 12 noon. CITY OF NEWARK

The City of Newark also offers FREE parking on a few select dates– Enjoy downtown without having to pay for parking on the following dates:

• Christmas – Wednesday, 12/24, Thursday 12/25 and Friday, 12/26
• New Year’s Day – Thursday 1/1/15
